First and foremost there was a BAPTISM THIS WEEK HEEYAW LETS GET IT BABY. Our investigator Arif is officially a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It was such a spiritual day and I was just so happy for him the whole time. He bore his testimony at the end and it was super special, he said that when he was 6 years old a homeless man had come to his house and asked for help like some food or money. Arif was only little but he helped this man out and gave him some food and money and send him on his way. He said that at that time he knew that he wanted to be doing good for other people and make the right decisions and that he knows that the decision to be baptised was the right one. He is such a stud. I also had the amazing opportunity to confirm him a member of the church and help him receive the gift of the holy ghost. I was super nervous the whole week because it's in Russian but it ended up being really good and the Spirit was just super super strong. 2018 is off to a good start.
The next coolest thing is that we set 2 baptismal dates this week! Alexei, and Alex. We already had a baptismal date with Alexei in the past and we just weren't sure if he was ready or not but we're currently helping him prepare for the 20th of January. Alex is a really cool guy and we were originally teaching him English and the Gospel but he came up to us and just said that he wanted to learn about the Gospel and so we taught him about the Plan of Salvation and it was super super good. We set a baptismal date for the 17th of February. He is moving to Romania this week so we called some Elders in Romania to take care of him so he'll be prepared for baptism there. SO RAD I LOVE MISSIONARY WORK.
Highlights of the Week:
-I finally won in the card game Munchkin (kinda like dungeons and dragons but it's in Russian) not only once but twice. +5 to intellect
-I wrestled with elder vashenko like 3 times this week and got wrecked every time. Check off the list: wrestle a ukrainian. +5 to strength, -5 to pride (for losing)
-Spoke tons of Russian this week. +5 to russian obviously
-We went running around this super sick lake that we live by in the morning and I want to go running more this week. +3 to endurance, +2 to finding cool places
-Elder Kramer went home this week(rip) and so that was sad and weird to see a missionary go home, like that happens? -1 to missionaries in Moldova
-I GOT THE GREATEST PACKAGE EVER so now we have an american football, and I have the greatest picture book of all time +10 to families
We heard about President Monson dying this last week and that was really sad but also good to know that he's where he needs to be. I look up to that man so much and he always was an example of happiness and love. I'm very grateful for church leaders who are inspired.
My spiritual thought this week is D&C 112:10 which is a pretty tight scripture that talks about being humble. And legit don't forget to read this scripture because it holds the key to how we can receive answers to our prayers. I love you all so much and I'm grateful for all of your examples to me.
