Elder Austin Whiting

Hey everyone Been a crazy week for me. I feel bad for my comp because he's only been for a week and so much stuff happened. On wednesday I passed out on a trolleybus and so that was fun. Basically I was having mad chest pains all morning and then I went to grab the handle on the bus when I got really light-headed and then the next thing you know I was on the floor getting smacked in the face by a moldovan women while she's yelling at me in Romanian. They kinda shuffled me off the bus and I sat down and was in tons of pain. They took me to a sketchy hospital in Balti and it was hilarious. At first they were trying to convince me that сквозняк (it's a superstition that if you have a draft in your house or an air conditioner then you'll automatically get sick from it) got me. The doctors here are great. They found out that nothing was wrong and that I just needed some meds. Then the doctor lady came in with a huge syringe and said "this is for your bum" and I s...

We headed down to Chisinau today and there was a girl wearing a shirt wearing "this girl loves Jesus" and so it was the first thing I could think of for the subject title. I'm pretty sure a missionary tag pretty much means the same thing though.  Anyways how is everyone Balti is just great thanks for asking We thought that transfers were going to be this next saturday but we found out last week that we were misinformed and that it was actually last saturday soooooooo your boi Elder Whiting is staying in Balti! Sadly they couldn't keep the dynamic duo together for too long so I've got a new comp named Elder Day and he's a young buck from the wonderful state of Georgia. He's really good at wrestling and he's a cutie. I'm super pumped. Sadly Elder Dumbrell and Elder Walch are leaving Balti but it's okay because Elder Martindale and Day are coming in so it'll be a blast. So its been a really interesting week with some ups and downs for sure. We've been getting poured on over the past week and its been fun. We were playing volleyball this past week and it was really nice in the beginning but then we saw a huge storm coming in super fast but Elder Dumbrell said "don't worry guys it will only be like 5 minutes" and then 20 minutes later its absolutely pouring and he is still saying "only 5 more minutes" and it continued to rain all night. Good times. Balti has been pretty crazy lately and there's a bunch of drama with everyone and so it's been a fun rollercoaster ride. And being a missionary is fun because you're in the middle of it all (yee yee). I also had some friends from Chisinau come and visit me yesterday during church so that was a fun little surprise. Hey cuties It's been a fun week and we finally got to meet our new mission president this past week so that was super cool. He is AWESOME. He's known for his crazy long interviews because he loves missionaries and he also loves to talk. I love it. He's also crazy smart and spiritual so he gave me some really cool advice for my mission. Sister Kumferman was sick so we weren't really able to meet her. Zone conference in general was just sweet. But before we had zone conference we had an opportunity to help with a funeral on tuesday (woo). The first time we did a funeral a super old guy had died and he just died of old age so it wasn't super sad but this last funeral we did a funeral for a lady who died of bronchitis and it was just super sad. All of her kids (in their 30-40s) were just crying and it was just hard to see. It makes me super grateful to know the Plan of Salvation and to know that death isn't the end.
