Hello everyone from the Republic of Moldova. It's been a fun week. We had an exchange with the ZL's this past week and it was weird speaking in english the whole time (they're Romanian speaking). They're hilarious though and it was a blast contacting with them. We grabbed a huge whiteboard and wrote "за что вы благодарны?" which means "what are you thankful for" and we got some great responses from some really grumpy people. We were like "hey what are you grateful for in your life?" and they're like "NOTHING IM ON A PENSION" and we're like "haha okay I'm sorry" it was great. Just trying to spread some good tiding of great joy but people are a bit grumpy. But it was cool because we ended up getting the whiteboard filled out.
We also had probably the sketchiest service activity this week and I'm not talking about dangerous but it was just crazy weird. We have this really awesome/crazy lady in the branch and she told us to come over to do service but failed to disclose to us exactly what we were doing. So we get there and then she's like "oh yeah I'm sick" and there's a measles epidemic in Ukraine and Moldova so we're like "oh splendid" and so then she's like "okay you need to nail in some pallets into the wall to make my house look pretty" but she she didn't have a ladder so we end up finding a half broken ladder and some scrap wood so we built onto this ladder and used it to hammer in pallets to the side of the house and at first they only gave us screws and we found out quickly that you can't really hammer in screws. So they found some nails and THEY LICKED THE END OF THE DIRTY NAILS BEFORE WE HAMMERED THEM IN. apparently it helps them go in smoother and its на здоров'я. So in the end we helped them build a ladder and hammer in some pallets so a pretty successful service activity.
Things from the week:
-Our golden investigator friend moved back to Russian this week so that was pretty sad
-I learned some fun phrases in Russian and Romanian this week. "Добрый вечер, я диспетчер, я хочу вашу печень." and "Eu sunt cel mai tare din parcare" so feel free to translate those ones haha
-I found out that the bible videos are SO GOOD
-Mission goggles are so real
-the other day I bible bashed hard with this guy and it got me so heated ahhh I hate bible bashing but on the record I roasted him haha (at least I tell myself) +5 to contention
-I listened to a really good/old byu called "father are you there?" so if you just want to find some inspiration then there you go
I'm loving the Mission and I've never been more happy in my life then when I've been out here and one of the things I've noticed is that the more I forget myself the more I seem to find myself and here's a lil scripture that has to do with it:
He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.
READ YOUR SCRIPTURES AND SAY YOUR PRAYERS AND HAVE A GREAT WEEK
love you all
