This week was a whole lot better than last week. The beginning of the week was still the same, we got 'bunged' (when they don't show up for the lesson) about 7 more times in a couple days. So leaving our final count for the week 19 times in 8 days. woohoo. jk it was the worst. But as the Russians say, жизнь такая. But wednesday was successful because we were 4/4 on lessons. We taught 3 different Igors that day haha. Literally everyone has the same name here. We did a bunch of member work this week so you already know I've got some fun stories.
We had a lesson with Alexei(with the baptismal date) and he had a ton of really hard questions and was pretty intense. We went over the baptismal interview questions and he realised there's a lot more he needs before he's ready for baptism so we moved his date back to the 10th of february. It was a much needed lesson so that was really cool.
Other than that there wasn't anything really big that happened, just some little fun stuff soooo:
-Apparently I can't read my church history book anymore(rip bby) and so you already know I'm gonna get some intense PMG studying in this week
-To explain my title.. it's a crazy story. So we went to go visit this member named Boris who I had never met before. We get to his house and it kinda is like the weasley house from HP but not tall. His dog is wild and was barking at us a ton and then he finally answers the door. Lemme tell ya Boris is the exact vision of what I thought Moldovans would look like. He's a big guy with a shaved head, scars on his face and he talks super slurred with a deep voice. It is so sick. Anyways he lets us in and he just talks about how much he loves the book of mormon and how he works all the time. We are nearing the end of the lesson when this older lady walks in and immediately gives us this look like shes about to kill us. Suddenly she starts yelling and telling us to leave. Like she starts going insane. Boris on the other hand is super chill while she's raging because "mormonii" are in her house. We got up to leave but she rushed us but cool calm Boris just sticks his arm out so she can't get to us. Andddd then we are walking on the street with him and he tells this story about how that's his wife and one time she randomly left him for like a year and a half and he didn't know where she was and it was during that time that he met with missionaries, quit smoking and drinking and changed his life around. But then she came back, realised that her husband was way different and now she hates the missionaries. He's just casually telling us about this when he sees one of his buddies and he's like "oh hey here's my friend Victor, he's a baptist and I want you to convert him" and so we go and talk to him. (now finally to explain the title) This guy look EXACTLY like T-bag from Prison Break but just a bit older, and he also had a higher voice it was crazy. Boris left and then we talked with this t-bag guy for a little bit but he wasn't too interested. Super crazy wild tho.
-I made Elder Walch laugh so hard that siracha came out of his nose and then his tears of laughter turned to tears of pain.
Other than that not much. This week I had a really spiritual experience while I was reading from the church history book again, I was reading about Missionaries all of the world when everything kind of hit me at once. I realised how many miracles it had to take in order to get me to where I am today. I am in Eastern Europe speaking Russian to those who have not heard about the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. 20 years ago was the first time that someone in this whole country was baptised. Years ago this Mission wasn't even thought of but now I'm here living it. I can't really put into words how I felt but I mostly just felt overwhelmed of how incredible it is that I have this opportunity. I love these people and serving a Mission has already blessed my live in more ways than I even know. I'm excited to continue to serve to the best of my ability here.
I love you all if I haven't already told you a million times
