Hey everyone
it's been a pretty exciting week to say the least
I am now in Kiev and it's been pretty crazy so far there are tons and tons of soviet blocks everywhere so that's been cool. It's a huge city so it takes us a while to get everywhere.
Tuesday we said goodbye to everyone and it was my last day in Moldova. I flew out wednesday morning and said goodbye to people at the airport and it was really sad.
I flew into Kiev that morning and instantly took a taxi to the temple building. The guys driving was pretty young and played russian rap the whole time haha. Also he spoke some crazy Surzhyk (mix between russian and ukrainian) so I didn't understand anything. A lot of people speak Ukrainian here so it's pretty crazy.
I met my companions on wednesday and they're so great we've been having a good time. There's Elder Day and Elder Prolo. Elder Day is from Lehi, Utah and lives by the rodeo so that's pretty crazy that we live so close and he's hilarious. He's the trainee and he's already picking up the language super super fast. He also loves Bob Ross and Kanye West so I'm a proud father. Elder Prolo is from San Clemente, California and he's a surfer guy. He's also on the swim team at BYU and he's a stud. We've been having a d*ng good time for the past few days.
The apartment here is pretty old and has been used since the 90's probably. It's HUGE THOUGH AND OH NO MY CAPS LOCK BROKE ON THE COMPUTER I PROMISE THAT I'M NOT YELLING HAHAHA. WELL.. I GUESS WE'LL KEEP GOING THEN.
Oh okay I fixed it. So. The apartment is huge and I'll take a video at some point.
The ward here is sweet. And it's super weird being in a ward because I'm so used to serving in really small branches. But I already love the members here a ton. They're so great.
My old trainer came to Kiev for a couple days to go to the temple and so we go to go to lunch together. It was so fun and we were just laughing the whole time it was great.
We also had a ward party this week and it was cool/weird to be at because it felt like I was at a ward party back home.
It's weird because I feel like I'm in training again because I don't know the area at all and I know no Ukrainian so I feel like I'm in this weird transition phase. Life is good though and it's been fun to figure things out. It takes about 45 minutes to get to the church from our apartment as well I forgot to mention that.
Also it was women's day the other day here and I AM SO GRATEFUL FOR ALL OF THE AMAZING WOMEN IN MY LIFE NOT JUST ON WOMEN'S DAY BUT EVERYDAY YOU ALL ARE THE BEST AND HAVE HAD A BIG INFLUENCE ON ME SO I LOVE YOU AND THANK YOU.
Here's a great scripture about moms
Alma 56:47-48
